Work experience offers students a unique insight into what it is like to be in full time work, this can benefit the students in many ways including learning generic skills (i.e. experiencing work, following working routines, working with adults, undertaking new tasks and developing confidence) and understanding & developing employability skills (i.e. personal presentation, positive attitude, communication skills, time management and organisation).
We offer all students two weeks work experience, one in year 10 and a second in year 12, we aim to make these relevant to the students own career aspirations. Primary responsibility for finding a work placement is with the students (with our support), once a placement has been found the Work Experience Form must be completed and returned.
Due to our close relationship with many employers we are able to provide students with excellent support in finding placements. We are particularly lucky to have a very strong relationship with Addenbrooke’s Hospital who provide up to 50 work placements for our year 12 students.
If you are an employer and able to offer a work experience placement(s) to our students we would love to hear from you, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
